Following VORRE, a reverb-drenched 67-minute long space-drone epic, ZGTC moves in the exact opposite direction and constructs an EP of short pieces comprising a polyptych of acoustic instrumentation, deconstructed improv and silent tension quilted together with vignettes of whispered vocal and featuring various guest appearances by stalwarts of the Bristol and Swindon 'New Music' scenes.

Flute on tracks 2, 5, 6 by Rowena Cameron-Tewe
Upright bass on tracks 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 by Joseph Kelly (Ynugylek, Spunking Octochoke, Etao Shin)
Cornet on track 3, 6 performed by Harry Furniss
Banjo on tracks 6, 7 performed by Nathan Alexander Howard (Ravetank)
Clarinet on track 4 and tape noises on track 6 performed by Owen Chambers (Tremolo Ghosts, Worker & Parasite)

'If Ian William Craig had skipped music school to get high with Mary Halvorson and listen to Bill Orcutt records, he might have ended up making something like this' - Gary Smurf, Spunklines Magazine

'This tripped out 'Jandek-plays-Astral-Weeks' song(?)-cycle meanders casually between sketches of free jazz, drone, anti-folk, raga, ambience, reichian minimalism, sound-collage and god-knows what-else without ever quite stumbling more than one foot into any particular style. If that sounds like too many ideas for a 16-minute EP well, you're right, it's a mess, albeit a beautiful one, like a painting by Joan Miro in audio form. Somehow, despite the jumble of sounds and influences, it adds up to a remarkably beatific listening experience. There seems to be breathing space between the notes; pacing and method to the chaos. Whether this is intentional, intuitive or some combination of the two is anyone's guess ' - TotalHeadz.com

'I can't figure this thing out - is it minimalist or maximalist? Ultra-post-modern or hardcore new sincerity? Is it totally random or meticulously planned? Is there too much going on or not enough? - best bet is not to think too hard about it and let it twist your melon into blissful satori. Essential, and I mean essential, listening' - Kat Human, The New Exploding Press

'Fuck you for making the exact blend between late Talk-Talk and Pelt that I've been aiming at for ages. It rules.' - Shit Creek, Luxury Bucket
